Manufactured in Germany in 1980 and imported as a semi-automatic rifle,
Upgraded by Neal E. Smith of Mentor, Ohio into a short barreled selective fire rifle.
Hooded post front and four-position drum rear sights, with a “HJ D” marked barrel,
“HK 53” and “IA” marked magazine well, with Smith’s markings added to the right side of the frame under the trigger housing.

Original Two-position telescoping buttstock.
The trigger housing bears pictographic markings for Safe, Single/Semi, Two-Round Bursts, and Full Auto.
Ambidextrous selector switch and matching trigger pack.
Internally, the bolt carrier is “HK 9/96” marked with factory original sear trip and the bolt head is “IB” marked.
Threaded Muzzle device, a long flash hider/barrel extension is also included.
