The Lost States of America Engravers Series

SK Guns® announces the latest production line from SK Customs® with, The Lost State of Jacinto – Sam Houston

Many people don’t know how the United States was really formed. The truth is, several additional/different states were proposed, close to forming or otherwise came close to becoming reality. Had even one or two become a reality, our nation as we know it now would have looked a lot different.

SK Customs delves into this history with “The Lost State of Jacinto – Sam Houston.”

THE INSPIRATION

The Battle of San Jacinto took place in 1836 in present-day Harris County, Texas and had massive implications to the Texas Revolution. General Sam Houston led the Texian Army against General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna’s Mexican Army in a critical victory. The battle lasted just 18 minutes and ultimately changed the world.

In the end, the United States would gain not only Texas, but also New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, California, Utah and parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and Wyoming.

As a result of the Battle of San Jacinto, almost a third of what is now the United States of America changed ownership. It is one of the most decisive and consequential battles in the history of the United States and indeed the Western world.

APPRECIATION

We commemorate General Sam Houston and the Texian Army for avenging the Alamo and Goliad by launching this very exclusive limited-edition, full-size Government Model Colt 1911 chambered in 45 ACP.

Each pistol will be engraved with a limited-edition number and accompanied with a beautiful antique silver commemorative challenge coin. Only 200 will be released. Everything about this pistol commemorates those battle-hardened Texians and the present-day state. The grips are made of genuine mesquite burl native to Texas. To enrich the history of this production both the grips and coins were manufactured and sourced directly from our partners in the Lone Star State, making this production even more special.

DESIGN

Details on the sides of the gun’s slide include a beautiful custom scroll pattern which flow to the top of the slide.

On the left side a 24k gold plated ribbon engraved with the iconic quote by General Sam Houston “Texas has yet to learn submission to any oppression, come from what source it may”. On the right side of the gun’s slide a 24k gold plated ribbon engraved with another iconic quote used when the Texian Army charged into battle shouting “Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad!”. The top of the slide continues with custom-engraved scroll, this time in 24k gold is a portrait of General Sam Houston. He is depicted by the Monument of San Jacinto, which is located at the site where the battle occurred. The rear of the slide has been plated in 24k gold and engraved with the State of Texas seal and “The Lost State of Jacinto.”

To finish off this custom gun the frame flats, slide, barrel and hardware are all high polished and selectively 24k gold plated.

Received mine. Took it to the range to try it out. First, it shot beautifully — like it was an extension of my hand. Second, the pistol was the absolute center of attention for all the range masters. Thanks for a tool that functions perfectly and a work of art that gives joy to the eye.
