SK Customs unveils Gun of the Year Lady of Guadalupe Colt 1911 chambered in .38 Super.
SK Customs has unveiled its annual Gun of the Year—a limited-edition Colt 1911 pistol chambered in .38 Super called the Lady of Guadalupe. This firearm pays homage to the cultural and religious significance of the miraculous appearances of the Virgin Mary to Juan Diego in 1531.
Juan Diego, who lived from 1474 to 1548 in Mexico, was the first Catholic saint native to the New World. He was canonized in 2002 by Pope John Paul II.
With only 300 units available, the Lady of Guadalupe firearm is a collector’s item. Its royal blue polished finish captures the essence of the Virgin Mary’s apparitions, while the slide showcases intricate illustrations of the roses that she presented to Juan Diego. As for the rear panels of the gun, they depict St. Juan Diego and the Crescent moon, adorned with stars and special edition number in 24k gold.
The top of the slide features a stunning portrayal of Our Lady Guadalupe accompanied by an angel. The 24k gold stars strewn across her mantle symbolize her greatness surpassing the stars in the sky, which were once worshiped as gods by the Aztecs. This image also represents her historical significance during the Mexican War of Independence and the Great Revolution of 1910.
SK Customs has meticulously polished every detail, from the frame and slide to the barrel and hardware. Completing the masterpiece are Kirinite grips, matching the 24k gold stars and the gold emblem of the iconic Rampant Colt.
More from the company about the limited-edition Lady of Guadalupe Colt 1911: “SK Customs takes immense pride in crafting firearms that not only exemplify exceptional quality, but also celebrate cultural and historical milestones. The limited-edition Lady of Guadalupe Colt 1911 is a testament to their commitment to excellence and reverence for the Virgin Mary’s apparitions.”
As mentioned, there are only 300 Lady of Guadalupe Colt 1911 pistols available. Gun enthusiasts and collectors alike now have the opportunity to own a piece of history today. The price is $2,500.
