Manufactured in the 1970s and 1980s, the “9 million” serial range M16s were intended for commercial or export sale but were made to the same military-grade specifications as Colt’s domestic armed forces contracts.
Features winged post front sight, Al-style flash hider integrated into a two-lug quick detach mounting point muzzle device on the “C MP/5.56 NATO 1/7″ marked 20” barrel, bayonet lug, clamp-on side mount sling swivel.
“C/MB” marked upper receiver, forward assist and large casing deflector, “C” marked bolt carrier, “MPC” marked bolt, and one-piece buffer.
The lower receiver features the “Rampant Colt” and model markings on the left side of the magazine well and a right-handed, three-position selector marked “SAFE/SEMI/AUTO.”
Fitted with a ribbed round hand guard, checkered pistol grip, and a factory original two-position telescoping buttstock.
97% original phosphate finish, with minor
rubbing and handling marks overall. Some rust spots are present on the muzzle device.
A few scratches are present on the furniture as expected with a machine gun of this era.
